Claudius Amyand

Claudius Amyand (* 1680 i Paris ; † 6. juli 1740 ) var en fransk kirurg .

Liv

Han var kirurg i den engelske hær og den britiske konge George II. I 1716 blev han stipendiat i Royal Society . I 1735 opnåede Amyand den første vellykkede blindtarmsoperation (appendektomi) på St. George's Hospital i London .
