Earl of Scarbrough
Earl of Scarbrough er en arvelig britisk titel i Peerage of England , opkaldt efter byen Scarborough i North Yorkshire .
Earls 'familiesæde var tidligere Lumley Castle i County Durham og er nu Sandbeck Park i Maltby i South Yorkshire .
Tildel og underordnede titler
Titlen blev oprettet den 15. april 1690 for Richard Lumley, 2. Viscount Lumley . Han var en af de syv jævnaldrende, der havde inviteret William of Orange i 1688 til at krydse over til England med en hær.
Han havde allerede i 1663 fra sin bedstefar Sir Richard Lumley (1589-1663) arvet titlen Viscount Lumley , af Waterford , som denne 1628 havde fået i Irlands Peerage . Derudover blev han opvokset i Peerage of England i 1681 til Baron Lumley , af Lumley Castle i County of Durham og i 1689 til Viscount Lumley , af Lumley Castle i County of Durham.
